The City of Jambi is a city on Sumatra Island that has nine districts and two cities. Province with the title “Sepucuk Jambi Nine Heads” there since 1958 with initial name adopted from Jambe, which later became Jambi. Batanghari is a river in Jambi area which is the longest river in the Island of Sumatra. This river is an alternative transportation between districts. In addition to one of the largest rubber producer in Indonesia, Jambi also has a tropical forest and mangrove forest located in the eastern region.
Ethnic or tribal children in the camp is a native of Jambi, which is currently still exist in several districts. This tribe is said to be the Minangkabau people who long ago wanted to expand its power into the area of Jambi. Ethnic or tribal children in the camp is divided into two groups, the tame one and the wild one. This benign tribes have adapted, conscience and permanent residence and has been developed. Wild tribal life is still traditional and appropriate. Their lives are still hanging with nature.
Jambi name means nut. The name is taken from the legend’s of Selaro Pinang Masak Princess, The Minangkabau Princess descent. Sekapursirih is one of the cultural dance Jambi currently often used dance to welcome guests great offerings. In addition Sekapursirih many dances in the area of Jambi, like Rangguk, Selampit Delapan, etc.
In Jambi area there are many attractions that are spread mostly in his district. One of the attractions in Jambi, Kerinci district as contained in Telun Berasap waterfall, Kerinci Mountain which is one of the highest mountain on the island of Sumatra, and lake Kerinci. Jambi is also one of the largest tea producer, namely tea kajo aro.
