Spending the twilight at Sigombak Lake



Sigombak lake, for the Tebo community, quite popular. Local people making a cheap recreation. The lake’s clear water is one of nature tourism is the favorite choice for a vacation or simply relieve fatigue.
In terms of geography, Sigombak lake  located in the village of Guava, District of Ulu Tebo, 30 km from Muaratebo and 250 km from the city of Jambi. From Bungo, Lake Sigombak also only 40 km from and 80 km from Darmasraya District, West Sumatra, or about 300 km from the city of Padang. Lake

With such geographical location, it is not difficult to get to that tourist attraction.
Various kinds of fish live naturally in the lake. Lake Sigombak has potential as a tourist attraction and nature in the Tebo Jambi Province. Lake with an area of 45 hectares with an island of 15 hectares in the middle, making it more beautiful.
Geographically, Sigombak other unique because it can be enjoyed from the top of the hill and from the bottom of the lake. Around the lake is still surrounded by a natural atmosphere like a beringin  tree and other trees.
From the cultural side, Lake Sigombak contains stories of the past legends. It is said that Lake Sigombak a bathing place of the kings of ancient times. Lake Sigombak also associated with several stories of the past that until now untapped. In other areas around the lake, also many temples discovered historical relics and ancient tombs. Again, historical relics and excavated it has not managed properly. Worse, now historical figures who have knowledge about Lake Sigombak not find anymore.
Although mention Sigombak as a tourist attraction, until now the Jambi provincial government and local government have not done Tebo development means to develop the tourism potential of nature. Until 2008, a new pier was built as a retreat. Government budget constraints and the factors causing the development of priority tourism development is slow.
