Typical foods sweet “Dodol” Potatoes from Kerinci Region Translucent Foreign Markets
Typical foods sweet Dodol Potatoes is a household industry in Kerinci district is now Translucent markets outside the region, especially in shopping centers.
Head of Industry and Trade Lukman Kerinci regency in Jambi, Sunday said it plans to keep on building crafters or household industries in order to improve the quality of potato dodol to attract and entice buyers.
“Farmers in the region are now actively developing domestic industries, among others, processing of agricultural crops and processed food such as dodol potato, banana chips and other,” he said.
Dodol potatoes thrive enough, even villages that produce dodol already exists, and every tourist who came to Kerinci can go directly to dodol producing village.
Lubuk Nagodang village located in Gunung Raya District, now a tourist area dodol potato production can be enjoyed by tourists visiting, now also has to Translucent markets outside the region.
Kerinci Regency, 410 km from the city of Jambi is located at the foot of Mount Kerinci is a very fertile area for vegetables, especially potatoes.
Agricultural and plantation commodities continue to increase now also be processed into finished products such as potato dodol, turquoise eggplant juice, and cinnamon syrup.
Special potatoes is developed in cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
